Fitna Yajoj Majooj By Moulana Muhammad Zafar Iqbal

Yajooj and Majooj, according to Islamic tradition, are two wild tribes located in the north-east region of Asia. They are known for causing mischief and spreading corruption on Earth, including the killing of people. They are said to be confined behind an iron wall and have been attempting to break through it, but their efforts have been unsuccessful thus far.

The emergence of Yajooj and Majooj is mentioned in several hadiths and is also referenced in the Quran, specifically in Surah Al-Anbiya (verses 96-97). The Quran describes the opening of the dam of Gog and Magog and their descent from various elevations. This event is considered one of the signs of the approaching Day of Judgment.

Zul-Qarnain, a great ruler and believer mentioned in the Quran, is said to have built a barrier of molten lead to restrain the mischief caused by Gog and Magog. The people who sought protection from their evil offered tribute to Zul-Qarnain, but he declined and relied on the strength bestowed upon him by Allah. With the help of his people, Zul-Qarnain built a strong barrier between the two steep mountain sides, rendering Gog and Magog powerless to scale it or dig through it.

Islamic teachings indicate that before the Day of Judgment, Yajooj and Majooj will reemerge and once again spread corruption in the world. This is believed to occur after Prophet Isa (Jesus) has eradicated the threat of the Dajjal (Antichrist). At that time, Prophet Isa and the believers will seek help from Allah, who will send a multitude of insects that will annihilate the entire tribe of Yajooj and Majooj.
